Founded in 2007 by the deans of the University of Minnesota (U of MN) Medical School, School of Nursing and School of Public Health, the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility (CGHSR) is dedicated to the following Mission:
"to integrate research, education and practice
in collaboration with global partners to improve
health worldwide."
The genesis of the CGHSR is rooted in the dramatic globalization of the curricula of these schools, a phenomenon that also has been witnessed at the other schools of the Academic Health Center (AHC) and undergraduate as well as many graduate schools on the U of MN campus. These schools play an important partnership role in achieving the mission of the Center.
